Blessed Assurance In Revelation

RevelationWonderful joy we will have in Jesus if we follow Him and do what He tells us to do.  We will be so blessed.  How cool is that?  “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22  He will bless us abundantly if we put His word to practice in our lives.  That is a promise to us from our sweet Jesus, and we can count on His promises.  “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”  Numbers 23:19

If we take the time to read the book of Revelation, Jesus will bless us. “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of these prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3

If we spend time reading God’s word and ask Him to help us to understand it, He will.  He will give us the power to obey Him and do what He says.   “Behold I come quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:7

You and I will be blessed if we keep His commandments.  “If you love me, keep my commandments.”  John 14:15  His commandments are found in Exodus 20:3-17.  We keep them because we love Jesus, not in order to be saved. Jesus is our Savior not the commandments. But, because we love and appreciate all that He has done for us, we love to obey Him.  “Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14

There will be a day very soon when all those who love the Lord will be with Him.  If we remain faithful right up to the time the Lord calls us up into the clouds to be with Him, our heavenly Father and the angels, we will be called to the marriage supper of the Lamb with all those that have ever lived who loved the Lord.  “Then he said to me, Write: blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the lamb! And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:9

We have nothing to fear if we pass away before Jesus comes. The Lord will not forget us. He will call us forth out of our graves to meet Him in the clouds along with all those that have ever lived who loved Him and wanted to be with Him.  Actually, it will be a blessing if the Lord allows us to pass away before He comes.  We will not have to go through the very difficult days ahead. We will be safe and secure from all harm and danger.  We will be resting in our graves waiting for the sound of the trumpet and the loud cry.   “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”  Daniel 12:1, 2   “Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write: blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors and their works follow them.” Revelation 14:13

We never know when someone may break into our house and rob us. Jesus compares His coming to the way a thief is when he makes up his mind to take whatever we may have in our home.  He does not forewarn us with a phone call.  He does not knock on our door and say, “Tomorrow night at 11:00 p.m. I am going to rob your house.”

The Lord Jesus could come at any time.  We have to, daily, be ready to meet Him in the clouds of glory.  Everyday we need to pray, read His word and with His help do what is right.  If we are not ready to meet Him, we will be consumed with the brightness of His coming.   “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:15

Those who are ready for the Lord’s coming will be taken with Him to heaven to reign with Him for a thousand years. Those who are alive when the Lord comes and are not ready will be consumed by the brightness of His coming and after a thousand years, will be raised up out of their graves to be judged by the Lord. Those who have no desire to be with Jesus will die at His second coming which is the first death and after a thousand years, they will be judged and cast into the lake of fire along with Satan and his angels which will be the second death.  You and I want to be part of the first resurrection.  It is for sure we do not want to be part of the second resurrection and be part of the group who had no desire to be with Jesus when He came the first time and end up in the lake of fire after the thousand years is completed.  “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has not power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:6
