Friend, as you study God’s word, may the Lord give you more of the Holy Spirit, and may He help you to see clearly what is taking place in this world. There is a war going on every second of the day between Jesus and Satan. We are caught in the middle.
We need help from the Holy Spirit to see the error; to see the wrong; and to see the evil in this world. Satan is a cruel foe, and he is working to deceive many. We do not want to be fooled by him and be eternally lost.
Let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us to be alert and to be aware that the end-time prophecies are being fulfilled quickly, and the coming of Jesus is so close. We need more power and strength to handle this world. We have nothing to be afraid of. Jesus is our best friend and will work with each of us to make us ready for His soon coming. Pray much and read God’s word much.
May the Lord help us to have a firm grip on the word of God. Then, when someone comes along and tells us something that is not in God’s word, we will know that that person is a deceiver and “abideth not in the doctrine of Christ” and does not know God.
“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.” II John 7-9
Beware of religious leaders that use philosophy and go along with manmade traditions instead of the word of God. If it is not found in the Bible, do not go along with someone’s opinions or thoughts even if he is a religious leader.
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Colossians 2:8
Jesus did not come to this earth to destroy the law of God. He came to magnify the law. “The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.” Isaiah 42:21 Those who tell people that we do not have to keep the commandments of God will be called “least” in the kingdom of God. All those who do the commandments of God and help others to will be called “great” in the kingdom of God.
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-19
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” I John 2:1-4
The Bible is our guide or instruction book. If someone comes along and claims to be Christ, compare that person with the Bible. If there conduct, thoughts and speech are not like the lovely Jesus, then they are not following Him. If they do not uphold the Ten Commandments like Jesus did, then they are not walking in the footsteps of Jesus. For Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15 “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:20
“Anti” means against or oppose. We need to be careful, in these last days, of those walking around that are against or oppose God’s word. They actually are against Jesus because Jesus is the word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:1, 14
The scriptures tell us to have nothing to do with false Christ’s or anti-Christs. We are not even to go near them.
“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:4, 5
“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” I John 2:18
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” I John 4:1-3
“Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:23-27
If in the future a “Being” walks this earth looking like Jesus, knows the scriptures, performs miracles, looks divine to you, friend, do not believe that he is Jesus. When Jesus comes, His feet will never touch this earth. We will be caught up to meet Him in the air. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” I Thessalonians 4:16, 17
Friend, ponder the following couple of verses for a minute. The Lord will eventually “take vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ”. I think these verses should wake us up a little. Don’t you think so? I think they are very straight forward. Apparently, God does not take it lightly regarding those that do not want to know Him and do not want to obey Him. It appears to me that when God tells us to put His word to practice in our lives, we had better do it. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22
“Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” II Thessalonians 1:6-8
I think we are seeing around us a falling away from the truths of the Gospel. The “man of sin” has been around for centuries. He is becoming more and more powerful. The apostle Paul speaks of the “man of Sin” in the Bible.
Many are being fooled by this “man of sin” because they do not love the truth as found in the Bible. We read the word of God for our protection. Reading the word of God gives us a clear understanding in the ways of God.
The Bible, also, gives us an understanding in many verses regarding what is going to take place on this earth when the Lord comes and a clear picture in the way He will come. But, most could care less. Therefore, they are being deceived by this “man of Sin”, and they are confused regarding the way and manner of our Lord’s coming. They do not take pleasure in knowing our lovely Jesus, and they put the word of men ahead of the word of God.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” II Thessalonians 2:3, 4, 8-12
This world is going down, quickly. Nothing in this world is of any value. It is all fake and nonsense. Doing God’s will (obedience) is solid and true. It will bring us right into the kingdom of God. Friend, look to Jesus. He will stick closer to you than a brother. His love for you is beyond measure. Jesus Christ is the only one in this corrupt world that is true, solid, trustworthy and sincere. He is coming, soon to take us to our heavenly home.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:21-27
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” I John 2:15-17
