Forgive Others

Forgive Others“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4: 31, 32

Sometimes, I think it is the hardest thing to forgive others. Perhaps it it because we feel that we have done nothing wrong, and it is all the other persons fault.  It may be the other persons fault; but did you ever consider that it would be nice to go up to that person and say, “I feel bad that we are not friends; could we please forget the past and move on with our lives?  We all make mistakes; let’s forgive each other for the mistakes that we have made and be friends.”

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God loveth his brother also.” I John 4: 20, 21

“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” Colossians 3:13

“For if ye forgive, men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6: 14, 15

Perhaps the reason that you are no longer friends with someone is because of what you said or did.  If that be the case, then you need to ask the Lord to forgive you, and go to that person and ask that person to forgive you.  It is a very difficult thing to do and can be a bit embarrassing. Think of how much better you and that person that you have hurt will feel after you have asked for forgiveness and that person forgives you.  You will both be so glad that that mistake is behind you, and you can now forget about it.

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceable with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12: 17-19, 21

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath, fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.” Psalms 37: 9, 10

“Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Ecclesiastes 7: 9

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”  Mark 11:25

“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.”  Luke 6:37

“He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.” Proverbs 14:29

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Matthew 5: 43, 44

Let nothing be between you and the Lord.  You want to be totally right with Jesus.  He is coming so soon, and we want to be ready for His coming.   We do not want to let anything keep us from lifting off of this earth and meeting Him in the clouds.

“He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.” I John 2: 9-11

“Whosoever, hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” 1 John 3:15

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”  Mathew 18:21, 22

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” James 4:17

“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23
