God Helps Us Understand The Bible

God can give us the ability to understand His word even though we are imperfect.

We all are sinners and in need of Jesus Christ.  We know that we must spend time with Him everyday. Drawing close to Him through Bible study and prayer gives us the peace that we all need in this horrible, confused time that we are living in. Thank you Jesus for leaving behind your word for us to read.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” Isaiah 64:6

“Why callest thou me good? None is good, save one, that is God.” Luke 18:19

My whole day seems to go better if I  take the time to start my day with Bible study and prayer.  I have faith that the Holy Spirit will be by my side when I read the Bible helping me to understand it.

“But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” John 16:13

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”  Proverbs 3:5

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.”  Proverbs 4:7

“Study to show thyself approved unto God; a workman that needeth not to be ashamed; rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

“They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. ”  Ephesians 4:18

As we take the time to read the Bible, our faith in Jesus will grow.

“The entrance of the words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalms 119:130

“Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.”  II Timothy 2:7

“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God”  I Corinthians 2:12

“Who is like the wise? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man’s wisdom makes his face shine, and the hardness of his face is changed”  Ecclesiastes 8:1

“Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path, when wisdom entereth into thine heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul.” Proverbs 2:3-10

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

“Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.”  Psalms 119:34

It is so important that we take the time to read the Bible for ourselves. There is so much error being taught today.  We do not want to be led down the wrong path.  Friend, pray that the Lord give you the ability to discern spirits–truth from error, right from wrong, and good from evil. Take no man’s word for anything.  Search the scriptures for yourself. The truth is always found in God’s word.  Ask the Lord to lead you into the truth of His word, and He will.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” I Timothy 2:3, 4

“Then he opened their minds to understand the Scripture.”  Luke 24:45

“How much better to get wisdom than gold!  To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.”  Proverbs 16:16

“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.  In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.” Isaiah 54:13, 14

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”  James 3:17
