Praise the Lord that we serve a loving God that is, also, impartial in the way that He judges people. Because of the fantastic love that He has for us, He will not let sin continue on forever. He loves the sinner but He hates Sin. Soon, he is going to destroy all sin. He is going to come as a consuming fire and destroy this earth just like He did before when He destroyed all the sin with a flood. “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” II Thessalonians 1:7-9
By God’s grace and power, we must let go of our sins before His second coming. We cannot change ourselves but Jesus has the power to change us. “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25 Noah preached 120 years and only 8 people went into the Ark. All the rest loved this sinful world and their sins. They would not confess and forsake their sins. “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13
“The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.” Numbers 14:18
We have the same problem today. The majority loves their sins and is enjoying this sinful world with all its pleasures. When the Lord comes, they will be consumed or destroyed just like the people were back in the days of Noah. When the door on the ark was shut that was it for the people. The flood swept them away.
Soon the Door of Probation is going to close on this world just like the door closed on the Ark. Then the Lord will come and all sin and sinner will be swept away with fire. It won’t be a flood this next time, it will be by fire.
After this world is destroyed by fire, the Lord will create a New Heaven and a New Earth. We want to be with Jesus in that World Made New.
