Power to Live a Godly Life

Godly LifeThe Holy Spirit will give us the power to live a Godly life. There is no way in the world that you and I can make ourselves a better person. There are ways about us that we do not like and would like to change. We perhaps see someone that is such a wonderful Christian, and we wish we could be like that person. Sometimes we are so hard on ourselves because we know that we do not measure up in the way God would like us to be.  

The Holy Spirit has the power to make the necessary changes in you, dear reader. Put your trust in Him!

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13

“The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8

“But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” Isaiah 40:29

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  Romans 12:2

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”  I Peter 2:2

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  Hebrews 13:5

Take one day at a time.  We never will change over night. Remember, friend, that you have a Savior that loves you and is for you.  Everything He does is good, honest and true.  He sincerely loves all of us.  He is working every second of the day with each of us.  His aim is to have those that love Him with Him for all eternity.  

Slowly, He is changing us as we can mentally handle it. Believe that He can and will make you, dear friend, ready to meet Him in the clouds when He comes.  Ask Him to help you to be willing to change and to become more and more like Him.  

Everyone of these fantastic promises in this Bible study are for you, friend.  

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed on his name.” John 1:12

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” Acts 20:32

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12,13

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Corinthians 5:17

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”  I John 2:15-17

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”  I Corinthians 6:19, 20
