Our goal is to be in the kingdom of God. We know very well this world cannot go on much longer. Not only do we have people ruining this world because they are bent on letting the devil control them but, this world cannot continue much longer because of the moral decay and the sinful conduct of the masses. Our world is wearing out just like so many things that we have in our possession eventually coming to there end due to hard use or from abuse. Our only hope is the “Upper-Taker” coming to take us up and out of this world. Hopefully, very soon!
“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” I Thessalonians 4:13-18
It just makes sense to me if we want to be taken out of this world, perhaps we had better walk in the footsteps of the One that can take us up and out. He has the keys to heaven and hell. If we want to be in that one sheep fold, we had better walk in the footsteps of the Shepherd.
Isn’t the Lord the one that is preparing a place for us, right now? No one else seems to care if we live or die. They are all so wrapped up in this world and its rubbish. The devil and his imps are busy ever minute trying to convince the inhabitants of this world that they should go to “hell” with them.
We can see in reading the Bible and watching the evening news that our only hope is Jesus. So, let’s get ready for His coming. It is for sure we do not want to burn at the brightness of His coming because we loved our sins and this world more than Him. Why! He offers us so much more; so, let’s grab for it.
“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” I John 2:6 Walking with the Lord brings sunshine into our souls. It brightens our life with joy. We have everything to gain and nothing to lose. He is the only one that is honest and true. Everything else in this world is a lie. We are at a point that we cannot trust anyone, anymore. Even, most of the religious leaders are not preaching the truth to us. “Lord, please give us the ability to tell truth from error, right from wrong, good from evil and the desire to walk in your truth. In your holy name I pray, Amen”.
With the wish to walk in His footsteps, we need to check out His daily walk. “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.” John 15:10
“So you shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 22:31
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15
If we have no desire to take care of our bodies during this lifetime, we certainly will not have that want in the World Made New. The New Earth is going to be Eden restored. What was the diet in the Garden of Eden. “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” Genesis 1:29 I heard a pastor say on the radio years ago that it will be so nice to be in heaven and have a big steak dinner. Really! Doesn’t the Bible tell us that there will be no death, pain or sorrow in the World Made New? “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4 So, we will not be killing the animals and eating them–now, will we? It takes a lot of prayer to develop better eating habits. I know, because I am having a problem, myself, in choosing the better foods to eat. We are not bringing glory and honor to God when we sit at the table and eat until the cows come home. “ Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31
And, this secret rapture thinking that so many have. Is it really true? The scriptures tell us that it will be like the days of Noah when the Lord comes. Noah and his family went through a terrible time of trouble, and the Lord protected them. They were fed; they had water to drink, and they were sheltered from the storm. The Lord will not forget us during the terrible storm just before us. He protected Noah and his family–He will protect us. His promises are for us.
Noah and his family were not snatched away before the Lord destroyed this world with a flood. They went through that very tough time. We will all go through the very difficult time that is soon to come upon this world as an overwhelming surprise. The Lord will never forsake us or leave us.
And what about this idea that it will bring Jesus, our heavenly Father, the angels and us joy in heaven watching all the wicked burn in “hell” forever? That is crooked thinking. It will bring us much peace if we go along with the Bible on the subject of “hell”. If people burn in “hell” forever, they will experience pain, sorrow, and will shed many, many tears. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4 Throughout all eternity no one will be hurt in any way. What good would it do to have people burning and burning forever? And, Jesus is all about doing good.
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith theLord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 4:1-3 This world is going to burn up, and the wicked will burn up with it. Everything will be burned to a crisp, nothing but ashes. The “hell fire” will take place at the end of this world when everything on the face of this earth will be destroyed with intense heat. Then, our Lord will create a New Heaven and Earth for all those that love Him.
Do you really believe that we go to heaven as soon as we die? Well, I, for one, am glad that we do not. Can you image being in heaven and looking down on all the misery that is going on in this earth, right now? Would you be happy up there seeing a loved one hurting in some way from illness or whatever, or would you be happy seeing your loved ones day after day living in this polluted, sin-sick world? I am glad the dead are asleep in their graves and know nothing. It is a blessing, really.
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7
“His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.: Psalms 146:4
“So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.” Job 14:12
“The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.” Psalms 115:17
Our hope is in Jesus. We must keep focused on Him. No matter what is going on with us, He is in love with us. Get up in the morning, and tell Him that you love Him and want Him to dwell within you throughout the day. Nothing is impossible with Him, and nothing is too hard for Him; He can fix anything, even us. He is a fantastic “Fixer-Upper”. He loves it when we say, “Lord, I just can’t do what you want me to do, and I just don’t seem to have the desire to do what I know needs to be done in my life. I know you are coming soon; so, please help me.” When we reach the point that we realize that we can’t fix ourselves and our only hope is Him making us ready for His coming, then He can slowly fix us. We keep thinking that we can fix ourselves, and we can’t. Give up trying to change yourself, friend, and tell Jesus to do it. Ask Him every day to help you to surrender your life to Him and help you to be willing to allow Him to change you. You do not have the power to change yourself; but, He does.
